Vivid Entertainment offered Octo-Mom $1 million (with a health plan) to appear in a number of their porn movies for one year, but Nadya Suleman is just saying, "No," to a "skin flick" career.

"I think it's kind of funny that I got offered a million dollars to make porn," Suleman begins adding, "those guys at Vivid video must be nuts! Who wants to see me naked? Maybe in a year when the baby fat goes away." she jokes.

Still, Octo-Mom admits she'd never let Vivid get off that cheap. "Of course, if I have more kids I may have to ask for two million dollars." (Don't kid yourself, there Nadya)

Huh? More kids?! WTH??? Is this chick mental? Okay, we have determined that already. Even her father has his doubts, as he stated in his interview with Oprah. Honestly, I can't believe Nadya didn't "jump on" the chance to sans her clothes for the big bucks, and a health package to boot. Wait, can someone get ME the number to this agency?? "Chemo-Beauty Cover"... anyone?? Ahh, all in fun. I would have to have at least three million, and the best hair extensions, none of those Jessica Simpson clip-ins. heh.....

Gathering back her modesty - and senses - Suleman stresses that she's not that kind of girl. "Seriously, though, my mum didn't bring me up like that. Besides, what will my 14 kids think when they grow up?"

And apparently she's a romantic at heart. "Despite what people think of my methods to get pregnant, I believe in love and romance. Not cheap thrills that belittle women."

An old-fashioned gal for sure sure! "Hey honey, can I have a sperm sample? I'll get you the cup.." So romantic. Wonder if there was a fireplace involved?

Five Ways To Instill Self-Worth In Your Teen

Whether we realize it or not, we have a huge impact on our teens' sense of self-worth. In fact, parents with poor self esteem usually translate their insecurities to their children, while parents with strong self-esteem usually raise children who view themselves positively. That means you need to be your child's greatest champion. Here are five ways to cheer them on.

Encourage Proper Identity. Teens experience pressure to succeed at an early age. As a result, they can grow discouraged or feel like they cant' measure up to our hopes or their own goals. Encourage your teen to base her self-worth on who she is in Christ, not what she does. Let her relationship with Christ be her chief identifier.
Listen As parents, we often talk "at" our teens rather than taking the time to listen to them. Cultivate the art of listening. Avoid formulating a mental comeback while your teen is speaking, but really listen to discern fears and emotions behind his words. Let your teen know you are available any time he wants to talk.

Validate Feelings and Opinions. It is really hard to live in a house where opinions are not valued and where you are not allowed to express emotion. Teens get frustrated after hearing "That's life--just get over it--get used to it--it only gets worse as you get older, better prepare now", over and over again.
Consider having family forums--times of discussion that involve all the members of the family. The topic can be as simple as where to go on a family vacation or as complicated as politics. Whatever you choose, let each family member have a voice. Family dinner time is an excellent time for the family "to come together as one", enjoy a meal and conversation together. It is important however, that each child has an opportunity to speak to their parent's one on one, on their own time and about a specific topic, if need be.

Console and Comfort. Your teen may be having some emotional battles at school or in relationships. Each teen faces these challenges differently. Some rebound quickly; others hurt deeply. Wherever your teen lands on that spectrum, comfort her. Remember that what seems insignificant to you could be a crisis to her. Also, never forget you were once a teen as well. Revisit those feelings you felt as a teen to get a perspective on how your teen may be feeling. Even though each child is different, and your teen may be different in expressing her feelings as you were when you were her age, it is a good thing to keep those feelings in check. However, don't make it a habit of saying "I was a teen once, too." That statement can be a double edged sword. Your teen could take it as if you are not interested in their feelings, but handled the correct way, it could be an opening to the conversation that allows your teen to see you in a different light and open up to you.

Bless With Touch. As children grow, we tend to stop touching them. This creates distance and they wonder if they still matter. Just because your teen is older does not mean she no longer needs your touch. In fact, some people are literally "leaners." The gain a sense of comfort from leaning against you or standing close while you give a back rub or a hug.
I have made a morning routine to "high five" my daughters while in the drop off line at school in the morning, just before they exit the car. We also greet each other in the afternoon, at pick up, with another "high five". They are at an age that they feel a kiss from mom is "embarrassing". I decided to not let it get to me. I get my kisses at home and high fives in the car. Either way, it is skin on skin, and they know that it is a simple gesture of great love between us.

Say "I Love You" Often--And Mean It. Let every greeting and every parting include an "I love you", even when you are angry with your teen. Remember, regardless of the current circumstances, these precious young people are our heritage and a gift from God. Those "high-fives" mentioned above, I still get an "I love you, Mom", after the high five. Those are the sweetest three words I look forward to hearing, and saying, each and every day.


To appreciate means to "raise in value". Catch your teen doing something right and praise them for it. Be specific:

• "I appreciate you because....."
• "I was pleased to see you......"
• "Thank you for ......"
• "You blessed me when....."

Your verbal praise will raise your teens sense of self-worth.

Multiple Meltdown: Video Interview Shows OctoMom and Mother In Heated Debate; Nadya Has Yet To Accept Help From "Angels in Waiting"

Chris Myers, Senior Executive Editor of RadarOnline.com, spoke with Meredith Vieira on Tuesday morning's Today show. Chris discussed the Nadya and the "controlled chaos" of her home. Almost defending the mother for her shopping trips and trolling around LA, instead of being at home with her children. RadarOnline(dot)com filmed the heated interview between the two Suleman women.

Also joining the interview is Gloria Allred, the attorney representing "Angels in Waiting", a program wanting to help Nadya care for the children as they start to be released from the hospital. The program will also provide care for the previous six children as well.

Allred, a well known, high profile attorney, and mother of TruTv's Lisa Bloom, filed a complaint with the California Department of Children and Families regarding the Suleman children regarding their care and disposition of their basic needs. Allred stated in the interview that she had received confirmation that Department of Children and Families. Gloria Allred has given Nadya until this Thursday, 2.26.09; to answer Angels in Waiting regarding accepting their help in caring for the children.

It is also being reported there is a chance that until DCF has finalized their investigation into the situation, Suleman may not be allowed to bring the children home with her as they are released from the hospital. Suleman's refusal of the offer of help from "Angels in Waiting" could also be a determining factor in the decision, as it shows that Nadya is not willing to accept help from outside sources.

Nadya Suleman: Neighbor Pulls Gun on Pap; Nadya Terrified for Life

In a brand new interview, Octu-mom Nadya Suleman says she is "terrified " for her life.
Nadya told RadarOnline.com exclusively that a neighbor of hers -- armed with a gun -- threatened the life of a photographer. She worries the neighbor associates her with the swarm of cameras on their street and she now feels her home is not a safe environment for her family anymore, especially when the octuplets are released from the hospital.

Okay, so the neighbor threatened the life of "a photographer". Not Nadya's life. Did I read that correctly? Seems Octu-Mom loves the celebrity and attention she is receiving or she would keep her swollen self at home with her previous six children. Not Nadya, she had rather blither around LA getting her nails done, visiting Starbucks, giving interviews, and looking at multi million dollar homes, instead of working out a way to help her poor mother keep her home from being foreclosed.

OctoMom: You Can Buy All The Makeup That MAC Can Make..But You're Still So UnPretty...

The above post title is a play on words from a song made famous by female group "TLC", "Unpretty". The song is meant for girls and women to see their "inner beauty".

I did not choose the post title to be "mean". I am expressing an opinion. Nadya's actions are making her appear very ugly in the public eye. That we know. I chose this line because Nadya is allowing her new found "infamy" and go to her head, and face, literally.

"You can buy your hair if it don't grow, You can fix your nose if he says so. You can buy all the make-up that MAC can make. But if you can't look inside you, and find out who I am to to be in the position to make me feel so damn unpretty."

Nadya was at the Brea Mall near L.A. Wednesday afternoon. She bought makeup, although it is not certain exactly what was bought. Here's what I do know. MAC eye shadow costs around $15.

Nadya may soon not have a place to live but she'll sure look good.

OctoMom blew some of her hard earned handout money on one tube of clear lip gloss -- which ran the food stamp user a cool $14.50 plus tax. In comparison, a 48-pack of Pampers usually runs around $16.99.

Anyone at CA-DCS reading?? I would like to know where the six children were while Octomommy was shopping for the fourth time we know of in less than week. At least, the octuplets are being taken care of for now, even though they remain in the NICU.

Nadya Suleman: Foreclosure to Multi Million Dollar Home: Pictures of Home Octomom "Wants"

The house is in Whittier, California. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms and a pool with no safety gates. Perfect for 14 kids. Listing price...$1.4 million.

A real estate source tells TMZ the owner canceled showings today specifically because "Octo" wanted to see it. Yes, that's correct, shooting interviews and house hunting, all while her eight children remain in NICU and her six other children are, um, well, we aren't sure.

Octo "needs it" because the house she's living in now may be on its way to the auction block -- as in foreclosure.

How is Nadya getting the money? Put it this way -- this chick works the media better than Britney Spears sans panties on a Saturday night.

Octuplet Mom "Interested Buyer" For Multi-Million Home Where Interview with Dr. Phil Held

Dr. Phil waves to cameras and the Pap as he exits the multi million dollar home where he landed an interview with the second most hated mother in America. Polls list Casey Anthony as number one. In the 18 second clip, you see Phil McGraw's staff leave the home, then briefly, Nadya leaves to the right of the screen. There is no mistaking the homely, jet black, coif, it is Nadya. Just afterwards, McGraw exits to the left. Additionally, a reporter yells to McGraw, "How did the interview with Nadya go?" According to sources, the interview will air the early part of next week.

It is being reported that the multi million dollar home, was just listed on the market by a realty and the listing agent/broker for that realty company says that Nadya is "a very interested buyer". All of this coming after reports that Naya's mother's, Angela Suleman, home was in foreclosure and to be sold in June of this year.

CONTRACT WITH PARAMOUNT?
Also, according to Harvey Levin of TMZ, Paramount Studios, affiliated with Dr. Phil, and separately on their own "vices", to talk "contract" with the Octuplet Mom. Levin says wherever Paramount is concerned, there is big money to be had.

It is also being reported, that Suleman has already taped several other "talk show" interviews, to be aired in the next weeks.

Jon & Kate + 8: Open Thread: Your Thoughts / Also: Want Kate's Tile Backsplash and Flooring?...See Post!

I am beginning to get a little more than tired with all of the "haters", and more so with the band of "Team Gosselin" fans, of Jon and Kate Gosselin. Most times, I feel I am on the fence when it comes to this family. Yes, I do think Kate is loud and obnoxious. And yes, I do think Jon and Kate are exploiting their children, all eight of them. It was cutsie in the beginning to see them all brand spanking baby new. When I tune in now, I find myself grinding my teeth at the sound of Kate's voice. Does she realize that she portrays herself in the light she does? In all of her interviews, she says "It's the real deal." Nothing is held back." There is a lot to be said for restraint and couth. And yet, I get what she is saying. The family is not "acting", they are being their "normal" selves for the show. I am beginning to worry about their "normal". They are using their children to take trips and buy material things. Jon has now quit his "real" job "as an IT specialist", to take part in the reality show. Has anyone noticed that there has not been a "lull" on "New Jon and Kate on Monday night" on TLC? Have they gone to filming all week? I can't remember the last time there was a "repeat" in their time slot. Even Little People Big World has returned to repeats.

Around mid October, the Gosselin's were fortunate enough to purchase a grandiose home to accommodate the brood in Wernersville, PA. From what I have seen of the home in the episodes it is beautiful. "Rumor has it", the home was previously owned by a doctor. So if you have not seen the episodes, you can imagine the grandeur of it all. The home is surrounded by acreage, or as Kate said in one episode, "Mine, mine, as far as I can see., all mine.." This is the same episode she spent relentlessly cleaning the refrigerator that came with the home, all the while exclaiming what filth the previous owners had left the place in. The entire premise of the episode was for the children to "explore" the new home and the property. Kate, however, retired to cleaning the fridge. I had made a comment in one of the JK+8 blogs, that I did not understand why she was wasting her time with the cleaning, we almost knew that Casa de Gosselin would soon be fully furnished by major brand advertisers.

I was correct. Last night's episode should have been dedicated to "Whirlpool". Kate received 2 Whirlpool Duet washers and dryers. "My friends in the laundry", Kate described them. That was after she exclaimed as the delivery truck pulled up, "Oh the entire truck is just our things!"

Yes, more Whirlpool appliances. Kate had already received her "commercial grade" stainless steel fridge earlier into the move. I had a sneaking suspicion that Whirlpool sent these appliances "sight unseen". Kate did not seem to know that they would be matching to her already new stainless steel fridge and stove. At least not the top of the line over the stove microwave, in which Kate was full of glee that "Now everything was sparkly and shiny and stainless." Believe me Kate, I have stainless as well. However, you have 16 little hands that are going to be all over that "stainless"... get ready to do more cleaning... heh

Now Lane Furniture has Jon and Kate on their website. The ad: " Get Jon and Kate's Furniture".

Are you serious? I have always respected the Lane brand and have several pieces myself, I was flabbergasted to see that Jon and Kate have 'my' sectional. hmmmph....

Well, I had an idea as I watched last night. While Jon and Kate visited the carpet and tile store, it struck me.

My hubby is an authorized "Daltile" installer. We saw that tile brand a few times, as well as several others. I have a copy of Kate's backslpash pattern in her kitchen as well as the flooring that they picked out. So, if anyone would like to have Jon and Kate's kitchen backsplash recreated in their kitchen, or the flooring that Jon and Kate chose for their basement and other rooms-leave me a comment. I am serious about my husband being an authorized/certified "Daltile" installer. And believe me, he will travel.

I do, however enjoy watching the show. I don't believe I "love to hate Kate" as one site mentioned. I just think I hate that I love them. heh. I do not begrudge their new home or new "things". I do not feel that they obtained these "things" in the correct manner. When the show is all said and done. All they will have are these "things". What will have become of their family. It makes me cringe to see Kate so overprotective of the 'tups, especially last night's episode when they were painting the downstairs family area. 'What a neat idea', I thought to myself. To have the entire family involved in painting the room. The memories that would make. But, no Kate had to be on top of every small spot and drop of paint that was not "on" the wall. You could tell she was so frazzled she can not enjoy herself. That is the part I do not understand. I realize she has to be tired at the end of everyday, probably at the beginning of everyday as well. These are days, however, that the two of them are never going to get back and I just don't understand all the drama that Kate has to provide. Let kids be kids, for when cared for and nurtured for with respect and caring, they will blossom into beautiful, respectful, and caring adults.

As for the open thread..what are your thoughts on the show? Do you think it has become a giant ad campaign all the while exploiting the children? I, myself believe the children are getting a little old for the show. They are seeming to need more parental guidance, especially Maddy. But this is just one Mom's opinion, and my right to speak it.

Study Says Moms Need Concern For "Portion Distortion"

Eating at home can save you some cash, but beware the calorie cost.
Though restaurants often take the blame for portion distortion -- the trend of serving up ever larger helpings -- cookbook recipes have done some supersizing of their own, a study published this week in the Annals of Internal Medicine found.
"There's so much attention that's been given to away-from-home eating and so much attention that's been focused on restaurants and the packaged food industry, it makes me wonder whether it's actually deflecting attention from the one place where we can make the most immediate change," says Cornell University marketing professor Brian Wansink, who directed the study.
The study, which looked at how classic recipes have changed during the past 70 years, found a nearly 40 percent increase in calories per serving for nearly every recipe reviewed, about an extra 77 calories.
The study identified the trend in numerous cookbooks, but it focused on American kitchen icon "Joy of Cooking," first published during the 1930s and regularly updated with new editions since then, most recently in 2006.
Those editions gave researchers a continuity of recipes from which to draw their data, Wansink says.
Of the 18 recipes published in all seven editions, 17 increased in calories per serving. That can be attributed partly to a jump in total calories per recipe (about 567 calories), but also to larger portion sizes.
Only the chili con carne recipe remained unchanged through the years. The chicken gumbo, however, went from making 14 servings at 228 calories each in the 1936 edition, to making 10 servings at 576 calories each in the 2006 version.
Calls to Scribner, publisher of "Joy of Cooking," were not immediately returned.
Most excess calories in the American diet still come from food eaten outside the home, says Marion Nestle, professor of nutrition and food studies at New York University. But she says the study is yet another illustration of how accustomed people are to eating ever increasing quantities of food.
And changes in "Joy of Cooking" have been going on for a while. Increases in overall calories per recipe have been gradual, but portion sizes tended to jump, first during the '40s, again during the '60s, and with the largest jump in the 2006 edition.
The first significant signs of restaurant portion inflation didn't show up until the late '70s, says Wansink.
Lisa Young, an adjunct nutrition professor at New York University, had similar findings in a 2002 study that compared the book's brownie recipe from the '60s and '70s editions to the recipe from the 1997 edition.
"Same recipe. Same pan. But in the '60s and '70s it yielded 30 brownies," she says. "In the 1997 edition it yielded 15."
She also was able to trace the trend to other recipe sources. For example, a popular chocolate chip cookie recipe that decades before produced 100 cookies, made only 60 during the '80s, though no ingredients had changed.
Wansink says he is more concerned by the increase in overall calories per recipe - what experts call caloric density - than in the portion size increases, which is a more easily recognized phenomenon.
"That (calorie increases) is more insidious because that's the sort if thing the average person wouldn't notice, wouldn't even think would have happened over the years," says Wansink, author of "Mindless Eating," an examination of why people overeat.
Much of the change can be attributed to money. Relative to household income, food is cheaper than during the '30s. So recipes once padded with less expensive (and lower calorie) ingredients like beans, now often have more meat, Wansink says.
The scope of Wansink's study is limited. It measures the recipes only as written, not as eaten. Because people may eat more or less than the suggested serving, estimating the effect on the typical diet is challenging.
But a 40 percent increase is significant. A change of even 10 percent can affect weight, especially when dealing with high calorie foods, says Wansink. His solution? Don't let a full portion get anywhere near your plate.
"It's not enough to just be aware," Wansink says of the recipes once intended to serve nearly twice as many people are they do today. "Put half of it away as soon as it's cooked."

Is Social Networking Making Your Teen Depressed?

Admit it. You can't stop. Morning, noon, night -- you're on Facebook. Now new research says excessive FBing (FaceBooking) may lead to anxiety and depression -- especially if you are a teenage girl.

Researchers at Stony Brook University in New York have found that too much Facebook usage leaves teen girls more prone to angst.

The study, recently published in The Journal of Adolescence, found that teen girls who talked with their friends online had significantly higher levels of depression. One of the study's authors, psychology professor Dr. Joanne Davila, says "Texting, instant messaging and social networking make it very easy for adolescents to become even more anxious, which can lead to depression."

At issue is that social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace allow young girls to harp on their issues - over and over again ad nauseam The study says this caused the participants to get stuck obsessing over a particular emotional setback, unable to move forward.

But isn't this all part of growing up -- especially for teen girls? Obsessing over a crush or an issue at school is part of life -- right? We all remember talking on the phone for hours about that boy in math class, agonizing when he asked Jennifer to the dance instead of us. Dr. Davila concedes that excessive commiseration is nothing new, but points out that it's the amount of the discussion that leads to the feelings of depression. She says, "[The girls] often don't realize that excessive talking is actually making them feel worse."

Is this something we moms should be concerned about? Momlogic spoke to Dr. Lisa Boesky, psychologist and author of When to Worry: How to Tell if Your Teen Needs Help & What to Do About It for guidance.

"We need to be very careful about the conclusions we draw from this study," Dr. Boesky says. "Close friendships -- and talking about your problems with friends -- can be very helpful for teenage girls. There may be some girls who have other risk factors for depression and obsessing over their problems makes them feel worse." She continues: "This is a small study of mostly Caucasian 13-year-olds.

Friendships among teen girls, how they talk about their problems, and the manner in which today's technologically savvy teens communicate with each other is complex and more research is needed before we can apply these findings to adolescents as a whole."

If you DO think your teen is depressed, Dr. Lisa says to be on the lookout for the following signs and symptoms:

• Sadness, irritability, or having a short fuse
• Loss of interest in hobbies
• Weight loss or weight gain
• Sleeping too much or too little
• Moves more slowly or appears more restless than usual
• Repeated complaints of being tired, having no energy or aches/pains
• Always criticizing herself, pre-occupied with past mistakes and failures
• Distracted or forgetful
• Likes music, books or poetry with themes of death or destruction
• Has talked about wanting to be dead or being "unable to take it anymore"

If your teen has displayed several of the above symptoms for two weeks or more (especially if their schooling, relationships or family life are being affected), it is time to seek out a mental health professional who specializes in adolescents, says Dr. Boesky.

"Your teen may or may not be depressed -- but you need to find out what is underlying their mood/behavior changes so you know what steps to take to help them," she says. "Any talk of suicide should be taken seriously and responded to immediately. Fortunately, most teens get bummed out or upset for a few days and then move on." However, some teens show no signs of suicidal thoughts or planning. They may go weeks and months without speaking a word to anyone, not even their closests friends, then one day, it is too late.

Today's teens have more pressures on them than we, as teens, could have ever imagined. The most important "thing" a parent can provide their teen is love, caring and concern. Make time to talk to your teen each day. Ask them how their day went, and really listen. Engage in conversation with them, without being "hip", but on their level. Remind them that you, too have been a teen, even though it is hard for them to believe. If you are comfortable sharing a story from your teenage years, and it pertains to the topic, do so. It will help your teen identify that you honestly do connect with their pressures.

I find my daughter likes to have our talks right after school. She grabs a snack, and we sit in the family room and talk for about an hour and a half. I do not have any time limit on the talks, they usually just run that long. You will find out more about your teen and she just may find out something about you, as well. ~SpoiledMom

Octuplet mother of the year, Nadya Suleman, took time out of her busy press schedule Friday to get a federally subsidized manicure in Norwalk, California.

Suleman's 3 week old, premature octuplets still remain in NICU at the hospital. Nadya's previous six children, the oldest of which is seven, remain at home with Nadya's mother. Perhaps playing the video games that we saw her purchasing earlier this week.

Must be nice to be "bottom of the barrel broke" and still retain the ability to be pampered. I cannot remember when I last had time to even think about getting a manicure was, hmmm, I'm guessing, six months ago.

I am a stay at home mom, and even though a manicure would be considered a luxury in these days, I am fortunate to say that a manicure or a new french manicure over perfect acrylics every six months, or six weeks, wouldn't break me. During the economy of today, I choose to budget and "splurge" on myself only when need be. I choose to do more for my children than myself.

Then again, I'm not receiving government aid, and I just happen to have 12 less children than Nadya.

Wii-Broke? OctoMom Suleman Caught Shopping....

Despite her alleged death threats, her website sporting a "PayPal" button for donations, student loans, and debt out her, umm ears, OctoMom was caught by the Pap in LA yesterday, doing none other than...shopping.

Was Nadya shopping for the 'tups? Nope... for video games. Wonder just when Octomom will find time to play video games? Perhaps she's using them as a "babsitter" for the other 6 kids.

Octuplet Mom Deceives Ann Curry-Has Been Receiving Government Assistance

Today, the LA Times reports that Nadya Suleman has been receiving public assistance in the form of $490 in food stamps a month, also, 3 of her 6 previous children are disabled and receiving federal assistance. Nadya told Ann that "she is not receiving government assistance" Her publicist says that Nadya does not consider welfare government assistance, but rather "programs designed for people with need". ..... what?

In an interview, scheduled to air in its entirety tonight, on NBCs Dateline, octuplet mom, Nadya Suleman told Ann Curry that she has not, nor will never accept government assistance for the care of her children. When asked how Nadya is able to support for all 14 of her children and had the ability to pay for the IVF in the first place, it seems Nadya was a tad deceptive. Through the use of often blathering words, When Nadya told Ann Curry that she was "responsible and not on welfare, disparage or any individual who uses welfare as a valuable resource. It can be a valuable resource as long as they are not taking advantage of it and are working towards a specific goal." "I have chosen to never go on welfare." I feel it is my responsibility to do what I can to provide for my children." Nadya began fertility treatments while working at a psychiatric hospital by hording money from working double shifts. Suleman says she has spent approximately $100,000, on fertility treatments and procedures. When Nadya's friends would ask her if she was saving for a car or home and she would reply, no, I am "saving for babies"

Nadya received $165,000 in disability in payments paid over 6 years, from an on the job injury. The "injury" has not been disclosed. Makes one wonder if it was an actual "accident". Her own mother, Angela Suleman reports that she was not aware of the money Nadya was receiving.

Currently, with fourteen children, three of which are disabled, Nadya has no income and has plans to return to school in the Fall, using student loans earmarked for that education, to provide for her children now.

According to Nadya, "I am providing for my children. I have my own alternative way, but it works."

Maybe Nadya should return to the psychiatric hospital, but not as an employee.

The comments from Nadya's mother Angela are adding fuel to the growing controversy that has already sparked an investigation by the California Medical Board into the circumstances surrounding implantation of six embryos into a woman with six children.

When Nadya, 33, decided to be implanted with multiple embryos, Angela was stunned. She told RadarOnline.com: "I was very upset. She already has six beautiful children, why would she do this?
"To have them all is unconscionable to me. She really really has no idea what she's doing to her children and to me."
Nadya lives with Angela, a retired teacher, and Angela says Nadya contributes no money to the support of her own children. Eight people - soon to be 16 - are cramped into a small three-bedroom house and fed in shifts.
RadarOnline.com obtained exclusive photos inside the house, photos that are bound to raise more questions about Nadya's ability to care for so many children and a RadarOnline.com reporter described the interior as "filthy", with food on the walls.
"How she's going to cope, I don't know," Angela told RadarOnline.com about her daughter. "I'm really tired of taking care of the six children and need her to think about how she'll provide for all these children."
Angela told RadarOnline.com that Nadya turned her boyfriend into a sperm donor for all 14 kids, but refused to marry him. "He was in love with her and wanted to marry her," said Angela. "But Nadya wanted to have children on her own."
Nadya was so determined to have children, she first became pregnant at 16, Angela told RadarOnline.com. She miscarried, said Angela, and discovered she had blocked fallopian tubes.
"How she's going to cope, I don't know."Angela said that she and Nadya's father, Ed, begged one doctor not to implant any more embryos in Nadya, who already had six children. But Nadya found another doctor to implant six embryos, and two split, resulting in eight more babies. That doctor's decision to perform the in vitro has left the octuplets grandmother furious. "I'm really angry about that," she told RadarOnline.com.
Angela also voiced her anger over Nadya's claim she was raised in a dysfunctional family and was lonely as a child. "We raised her in a loving family and her father always spoiled her," Angela said.
"The truth is that Nadya hasn't worked since she started having her children," Angela, charged, "while Ed and I battled to pay her bills.
"Nadya promised to help me with the bills, but she never has. I lost a house because of it and now I'm struggling to look after her six. We had to put in bunk beds, feed them in shifts and there's children's clothing piled all over the house."
Angela told RadarOnline.com that she wasn't at the octuplets' birth because she was looking after the other six children. "But I saw the octuplets when they were two days old. They were so tiny and fragile, with bright purple skin, I was afraid to touch them but they're all doing well.
"Nadya has given them all Biblical names. Seven of them are dark-haired, but one, Noah, shows my side of the family. He looked so cute with his purple skin and bright yellow hair."

"Octuplet Mom": "Her Children Wanted Siblings"; Suleman Also Discusses The Father; Our First Look At The Octuplets

Ann asks Nadya why she continued her pregnancies after the first child. It was not until 2006, when Nadya had twins. Nadya used the same fertility clinic each time. adya admits now that it was a selfish act, but at the time, she thought her children "needed siblings" and she needed to provide that for them. She also states a large family has always been her dream and she used the guise of providing siblings to justify the pregnancies.

Octuplet Mom--Miracle Birth to Medical Board Investigation

We continue to hear more reports and information regarding the newly-dubbed "Octomom", Nadya Suleman, mother of octuplets and 6 previous children which includes a set of twins.

Since the birth of the octuplets, this story has gone from a miracle birth, to a mysterious mother, and then to questioning the ethics of the fertility doctor by the California Medical Board.

Now America, along with top, leading experts in the field, is questioning the mental and financial stability of this mother and if the entire ordeal was not some type of "marketing scheme" between the mother and her fertility doctor, from the very beginning.

Nadya Suleman has been receiving disability payments for years.

Allegedly, the ex mental hospital worker, who has been rumored to have undergone massive plastic surgery including collagen plumped lips, cheek implants and a nose job, was married once, divorced, and then decided to use a sperm bank donor for all 14 of her living children. Sources close to Nadya say she is obsessed not only with children, but with Angelina Jolie's contributions to society, her children, and her looks.

Nadya also lives with her parents and has only their income and her disability to support her, and all fourteen children. That is, unless TV shows and media keep paying her for more interviews like the one NBC is airing on it's "Dateline" next Monday.

Nadya Suleman, the “octuplets mom,” told her story to NBC’s Today Show and Ann Curry, to be seen next Monday.

Questions of ethics, mental stability and financial responsibility surround the woman who feels justified and compelled to eschew adoption of so many needy children, and pass as many humans through her loins before she leaves planet earth.

It's infuriating many in California who are subsidizing this woman through their taxes, so she can continue on with her child bearing. Many have great concerns regarding her child rearing abilities.

Suleman hired L.A. publicists to handle her story. Although, did Nadya not say she was going to handle all the media herself? She would handle every need of her children, be there for them, each and every one? Her children are the news, and news it is.

FOX network pundit Bill O’Reilly went off on the seemingly disturbed mother of fourteen.

O’Reilly labeled the multiple births “child abuse,” because these kids can’t receive the care they need without costing all of us in government subsidies.

The woman claims she felt "isolated" and had a "dysfunctional childhood" to NBC, and that her desire was "to be close to someone, and have a lot of children, to fill her void."

According to the State of California Children's Welfare Division, paperwork filed on Nadya states that she had a "normal childhood", and the paperwork does not mention any dysfunction in the family.

California residents are also questioning if Nadya did in fact have plastic surgery, did she have her own private insurance to cover the procedures? In most cases, the majority of private insurances do not cover "cosmetic" procedures. The question is one of ethics and integrity.
People in the community are wanting to know how the cosmetic proceudures were paid for and how Nadya will continue to live and provide for the children, without relying on taxpayer dollars.

Octuplet Mom...See Any Resemblance?

We moms know that during pregnancy we get an extra lift of collagen, giving us pouty lips to long for. The question is, do you get more collagen during a "multiple" pregnancy? Hmmm....

Wonder if Nadya's "Angelina-like lips" are the result of extra pregnancy collagen, or a high-priced "boost" of collagen. Maybe neither and just perhaps she has naturally plump lips.

Either way, it has more than a few moms talking today after the octuplet mom revealed herself and a partial of her story to Ann Curry and the world on this morning's Today show.

California Medical Board Investigating Octuplet Mom's Fertility Doctor For Violations

The Medical Board of California is investigating whether there were any violations by a fertility doctor who helped a woman become pregnant with the octuplets born last month.

Board spokeswoman Candis Cohen said the board will determine whether there was a violation of medical standards. The board has not identified who is under investigation or where the fertility treatment was performed.

The probe was first reported by the Whittier Daily News.

Nadya Suleman, of Whittier, gave birth to six boys and two girls on Jan. 26. The 33-year-old single mother has six other children.

In a portion of an NBC interview broadcast Friday, Suleman said all her children were born through in vitro fertilization by the same specialist.
She said in the interview that having a "huge family" was always a dream of hers.

Suleman said she longed for "certain connections and attachments with another person" that she lacked growing up. She said her childhood as an only child was "pretty dysfunctional."

State documents, however, quote her as suggesting she had a happy childhood.
Suleman has stirred up an ethical debate about fertility treatments after it was revealed she already had six children before giving birth to the octuplets.

Suleman's publicist said she's "feeling great" and looking forward to being reunited with her octuplets, who were born prematurely last month. They're expected to remain in the hospital for several more weeks.

Octuplet Mom Gives First Interview to Ann Curry

Nadya Suleman will give her first interview since giving birth to octuplets to NBC News.

The exclusive interview will air on NBCs "Today" show and NBC "Dateline" on Monday night.

I will be posting the interviews as soon as they air and I can get them uploaded. So keep checking back for TV airtimes and for the videos if you happen to miss the original air date.

The new mom was discharged from the hospital early Thursday after giving birth to six boys and two girls on January 26.

There has been a great deal of media coverage and controversy surrounding the mother and the birth of the octuplets. The mother is unmarried and supposedly "worked" in the health care profession before becoming pregnant with the octuplets.

Her spokesperson was a guest on Larry King Wednesday night. She stated that Nadya is not on government assistance and wanted America to know that she had no intentions of going on welfare. She does, however, have intentions of what appears to be using her newborn children as commodities in order to receive income for "their story". If Nadya's statements that she is not using the children for income is correct, why would she not schedule then hold a press conference and tell the story of her IVF and the birth of the octuplets for "free"?

The grandmother of the octuplets has announced she "has had enough" of all the coverage and reported, finally, that Nadya had all eight embryos implanted via IVF, as well as her previous six children.

A Mother's Worst Fear: My Children's School Was On Lock Down Today

My girls were anticipating a shortened school day this morning, a planned half day for the county school system. Although, early this morning, I had hoped the schools would consider closing altogether since we had a light dusting of snow and the wind chill made the morning temperature around -1. Not much luck.

I awoke and had my morning coffee and news around 5am as usual. I must have that first, sometimes two, cups of coffee in the morning to get going. I prepared the girls' breakfast, pancakes and bacon, a request from the oldest last night.

The "brats", as I lovingly call my girls to my online friends, started to sleepily wander
downstairs and make their way into the kitchen. The youngest brat made it as far as the family room and wrapped up in the large family quilt that is usually fought over during family time, or watching movies. As always, to end the fight, we all snuggle up close on the sectional and share the quilt. This morning however, youngest brat was colder than usual and asked if she could eat her breakfast in the family room. Oldest brat came down and joined, and I gave in, saying "this one time".

All the while I was worried that "the quilt" would be covered in maple syrup stickiness and would be another item for the daily wash. As it turned out, not a drop was spilled.

The brats quickly ate their breakfast and young brat announced she needed to get to school earlier than usual because she had an early morning test and she wanted to prepare. My older brat was in her normal "can't wake up" mode, and dragging. She finally got it in gear and began to get dressed. I did my usual morning ritual of ironing clothes, signing planners, and dispersing lunch money.

While it didn't take my youngest brat long to dress, older brat came down and needed her medication from a recovering cold. As she stood at the kitchen sink, the bright sun peeking in, I noticed that her navy pea coat had lint and our shih-tzu's hair on it. I got out the lint roller and began rolling her coat to get every piece of lint and hair I could find. Younger brat was in the hallway pacing and saying "let's go, let's g-oo-ooo".

Everyone finally was ready to go. We went to the car that somewhere during all that morning rush, I had started so it would be nice and warm. The brats' school is not even a mile from our home. We arrived at 7:30am. As I do every morning, we all said our goodbyes, I love you's, and have a good day's. My youngest brat, every morning, always turns and looks back at me before I drive off. This morning, she didn't. I knew she was in a hurry to get to class, and didn't think much of it. I drove home as usual, making another mental note of the half day and the time I needed to pick them up.

Shortly before 11:30am, the phone rang, my father asked me what was going on. I replied, nothing. He then told me to turn my TV to the local news channel. I was terrified at what I was hearing. One of the schools that my girls attend, was one of four that was placed on lock down due to threats made by a student. That student could not be located. I panicked. I grabbed every cell phone I have in case one of the girls thought to text me. I could barely open my laptop my hands were shaking so. My thinking was that the local news channel's website would have more information. I finally reached the site and there it was, making it even more real. A red banner across the top of the page.
It read, "BREAKING NEWS: FOUR AREA SCHOOLS ON LOCK DOWN".
I felt sick.

For a split second, my mind flashed to the movie "Dawn Anna". A movie that I had recently watched that is based on a mother who develops a brain tumor, undergoes surgery then and a long, remarkable, healing period. Dawn Anna happens to be the mother of Lauren Townsend, who was killed in the Columbine shootings. When I began the movie, I was watching for inspiration for my own healing from cancer. At that moment this morning, I thought of Dawn and the parents of any school shooting, and I knew I was feeling the same terror they all did at the beginning. I began to pray.

My story has a different ending, however. I raced to be "in line" to pick my girls up at the car rider's circle, as I do everyday, only earlier today, due to the half day dismissal. I was unsure if the school would even let the children leave. No one knew any news. My calls to the school were met with busy signals. Finally, after about fifteen minutes of waiting in my car, I saw children starting to dart out the doors and go to their waiting mothers and fathers. Even though I could see my two brats, I did not feel as if I had taken another breath until they were inside the car.

My youngest brat told me they were on lock down today, but did not know what for. I told both of them what had transpired on the news and what little information I knew, which was not much more than they knew. They did not seem to sense the seriousness of it all. They were complaining to each other what teacher's room they were "stuck in during the lock down".

I suppose my silence on the short drive home struck my youngest brat. After arriving home, as we got out of the car and approached the door to our home, she hugged me and said, "I won't forget to look back again."

Spokeswoman: Octuplet Mom "Upbeat, Not Overwhelmed"--All Babies Named

The California woman who recently gave birth to octuplets is not overwhelmed and is looking forward to telling her story, her spokeswoman said today.

Nadya Suleman is a "wonderful woman," spokeswoman Joann Killeen said today on "Good Morning America." "She's smart, she's bright, she's articulate, she's well-educated and she has a wonderful sense of humor."
Suleman, 33, remains in a hospital in southern California after giving birth Jan. 26 to the octuplets. Suleman, who has six other children, is now the mother of 10 boys and four girls younger than 8. All were born by in vitro fertilization, her mother has said.
Despite what might seem like an overwhelming number of children and despite her family's apparent financial difficulties, Suleman is "upbeat" about her future, Killeen said.
"She's very joyful. Nadya is a very balanced and together woman," she said.
"She's very, very happy and joyful for the miracle of life and the babies."
Suleman has held the babies and has named them, Killeen said, though she declined to reveal the names.

I do not see how having a "wonderful sense of humor" will help this woman financially, or emotionally, for that matter, take the proper care of all fourteen of these children. When they are all screaming and crying at one time, what is she going to do, crack a joke? It is one thing to be positive or "upbeat" about a situation, it is another to be realistic. Does this spokesperson imply that a woman that does not have half the education that Nadya has, does not have the ability to raise multiples, or even "a child" for that matter? I tend to question the mental stability of this mother and why she would want to give birth to this many children, in addition to the six she already has. And in my opinion, I have a small problem with there not being a "father" around for this many children. I am all for single women that want children but do not necessarily want "the relationship". That is a woman's choice and not for me to judge. It is not for me to judge anyone, I just feel that with this many children, there should be a father figure in their lives, other than their grandfather. And I do know something on the topic, I lost my husband of 12 years 6 years ago. My two daughters were devastated.

These children will not have one memory of a "father" from their younger days.

There are so many aspects to this story. Moral, health, psychological, and financial to name a few. There has to be some motive, somewhere. I do not feel this is just "happenstance". There are no "coincidences. I would not be surprised if this is not the end of the story. I do feel Ms. Suleman already has plans for exploitation of the children by stating she has book and TV special plans in the works. Is that the reason behind the vagueness, the secrecy and by not releasing the names of the children.

Similar to a Duggar-type scenario, where we learn baby eighteen's name on the show. I can still hear Michelle Duggar, during an interview on the Today show, when asked the baby's name, "Oooh, you'll have to wait for the episode to find out." I yet to know that child's name except, I am positive it starts with a "J"... my two cents

Is Mother of Octuplets Trying to Steal Kate Gosselin's Limelight?

The mother of the octuplets born last Monday has hired a publicist and is reportedly lining up paid interviews, book deals, and tv specials to document the birth of her octuplets. Despite this, the mother is having financial problems, and on top of that, has 6 other children at home, which includes a set of twins. That makes for a total of 14 children, ranging in age from 8 days to 7 years old. The mother, Nadya Suleman, currently lives in a three bedroom home with her parents and her other six children.

Kate Gosselin appeared on Larry King Live Monday night and stated that she is "Very frightened for this mother." Kate went on to add, "It takes both Jon and I to deal with the "everyday" life of having multiples." Kate said that in the beginning, after her sextuplets were born, she felt as if she had given birth to octuplets over a three year period. Kate said in the beginning, times were hard and they needed all the help they could get, and were not ashamed to take it.

However, now that the Gosselin "tups", as well as the twins, have gotten older, it is mainly Jon and Kate, along with a "family helper", that take care of the children and home keeping. Kate said she wishes Nadya good luck, and had earlier given her blessings. However during the turn of the weeks events, Kate does question why this single mother would want to tackle this enormous responsibility on her own, even with the help of her parents. "There is just not enough of her to spread equally among 14 children, and especially without a father." The octuplet's mother plans to breastfeed all 8 children, which consist of 6 boys and 2 girls.

This is an exlusive LKL Blog commentary by Kate Gosselin of TLC’s “Jon and Kate plus 8″ - Kate, a mother of twins and sextuplets, will also be our guest tonight on Larry King Live! Let us know what you want to hear from Kate NOW!

When parenting multiples, there are many things that are important to remember. Here are a few:

1. Parenting multiples is totally different than parenting a singleton. The schedule and methods that work for a singleton will need to be amended for multiples. I remember receiving advice from moms of singletons and thinking ‘how in the world would that work in my situation?’ … And so it requires a multiple mom to think very much on her own and create a unique schedule.

2. With multiples, help is not an option, it’s mandatory for survival.
It was very difficult for me to accept help but I realized that the health and well being of my family depended on me allowing others to step in and help… Many of these people we had never met before!!!

3. Life will never be the same. It will be difficult and beyond manageable at times. Embracing the myriad of changes is very difficult but very necessary. I choose to see the blessings, not the inconveniences that multiples bring. The many happy and smiling faces when I come into the room keep me going…

4. Ultimately, the responsibility is on the parents to raise this unique set of people who, although born as a group, are each individual people. It begins with giving enough time to each child and helping him/her to identify their differences.
This is a very difficult task as time is at a premium!!!!

5. A parent of multiples will forever be answering questions, fending off judgment and making logistical adjustments to make life fit their situation. This is just another part of life with multiples that will eventually become normal but, again, takes adjustment and wisdom.

6. Children are meant to be born one or two at a time. Modern science causes more to occur sometimes. While this causes strains, I believe that each life, no matter the circumstances, is created for a purpose and that it is possible to raise “HOM” (higher order multiples) successfully but it takes sheer and utter determination and commitment on the part of the parents!

Kate Gosselin to Guest on Larry King Live: Discussing Octuplet's Born Last Week and The Mother, Who Now Has 14 Children

For those following the octuplets born last week, Kate Gosselin of Jon and Kate + 8, will appear on Larry King Live Monday night with her opinion on the story.

Kate Gosselin gave birth to two sets of multiples herself, first a set of twins, then to sextuplets 4 years later.

News today is reporting that the octuplet's mother's ex-husband is not the father of the fourteen children. The grandmother is stating that the mother is obsessed with children.

I have a post on this story that I have not finished. And to those readers that know me, you know it is going to be good... heh.


This posting is an update and to pass along that Larry King will have Kate Gosselin as a guest tonight discussing the story.

Acutal post of the octuplets (not to mention Kate Gosselin..damn, I wish I had finished yesterday and published) So here is my "proof" I had the blog posting already in draft before learning of Kate's appearance on Larry King. So, heh..

And for those wondering, I am doing okay after the last chemo cycle. I have received a lot of emails and have tried to answer as many as I can. I apologize to those that I have not yet answered. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I honestly appreciate all of them. Most of all, I appreciate YOU. Thank you for subscribing to this life of mine. Even if you don't subscribe, thank you for your readership. This blog allows me to empty my thoughts at times, as well as keep me busy while I am confined to bed (or sofa..heh). I want to start chronicling my chemo and cancer therapy more, but with the Caylee Anthony site, keeping up with the girls, the home, cancer, chemo and all the other Mommy duties, it is a daunting task.

Octuplets' Mom "Obsessed"

The California octuplets turned a week old Monday, and officials at Kaiser Permanente's Bellflower Medical Center say all eight continue to do well. However, the picture emerging of their mother is that of a woman who's been fixated on having babies.

Nadya Suleman, 33, now has 14, all seven years old and under. She lives with her parents in a modest home in Whittier, Calif., outside Los Angeles. There've been no pictures yet of the infants or Suleman. She remains hospitalized, too. Reporters continue to pepper her parents with questions at the family home. "Everybody's doing good," Suleman's father said. How are the kids doing? "Fantastic," he replied. Suleman's mother said Nadya paid for in vitro fertilization with money from a legal settlement after a work accident.

The octuplets' grandmother adds that all 14 kids were conceived through in vitro, using the same sperm donor. It's unclear how Suleman plans to support her huge family. Her parents have had financial problems. The octuplets are all preemies and will likely require extra care. Suleman once had a license as a psychiatric technician but that expired. In recent years, she's been an unemployed student.

Suleman, though, has hired an agent, and there are reports she hopes to make money through TV interviews and even by working as an on-camera childcare expert. "She did not seek to have more children," Suleman's grandfather has said. "She thought she was going to have ONE more child." Suleman's mother said that, when Suleman was in her mid-20s, she believed she was infertile and became obsessed with having children. That's what a family acquaintance says, as well, and that Suleman always hoped for ten kids.

The BJ Penn Smoothie

The "BJ Penn Smoothie"

As seen on UFC Primetime:

Banana Oatmeal Smoothie(2 servings)
(BJ Penn also uses Whey Protein at times)

1 cup low-fat milk
1 cup orange juice
1 medium banana - cut into pieces
1 pack of instant oatmeal - regular or unflavored
(if you prefer, you may add Whey Protein)

3 or 4 ice cubes

Place all ingredients in the blender, liquid then ice first, and blend for a minute or so until smooth.

This is also a great smoothie for kids, mine love it. My oncologist also recommends it as well. I usually make a full recipe and take along with me to chemo treatments. The protein as well as the sugar from the juice has helped keep my blood level stable.

As for BJ Penn, we true fans are still behind you all the way. We know the last fight was a crock and can't wait for you to get your day to beat GSPs ass.
