Jon & Kate Plus 8 is that wonderfully popular reality TV show on TLC about Jon & Kate Gosselin and their eight kids: 9-year-old twins and 5-year-old sextuplets. If you watch enough episodes of Jon & Kate Plus 8, as camera crews track every detail of their lives, you'll eventually witness Kate engaged in histrionic tempestuous behavior, while Jon stands by and does nothing. Kate has slapped Jon, degraded him before the kids and has thrown temper tantrums in public.

This all makes Jon & Kate entertaining. There are a lot of "I hate Kate" people out there who continue to watch the show to be entertained by the next Kate tantrum. But there are "I love Kate" fans as well, who insist that in real life, Kate Gosselin can't be all that bad. Many Jon & Kate viewers insist that the show is deliberately edited to make Kate Gosselin come off as a witch; and that the scenes showing Kate on the war path are seen out of context.

At the same time, Kate Gosselin fans insist that this mother of sextuplets is a true inspiration, very loving, a doting mom and loyal wife who has it all together. Where do Kate Gosselin fans get this idea from? NONE OTHER THAN THE TV SHOW !!!!! Because watching Jon & Kate Plus 8 is the only way Kate fans can observe her.So what's my point? To all Kate Gosselin fans: Did it ever occur to you that the show is edited to make Kate look better than she actually is ????

Perhaps what you perceive to be an affectionate, loving, inspirational, doting, even-tempered, sane "has-it-together" mother and wife is actually taken out of context !! In other words, your very argument that editing makes Kate Gosselin look like a shrew is the very argument that can be used against you.

Do you really believe Kate wouldn't be this way if she had only two kids? Come on, you're smarter than that. We all know women who are just like Kate and have only one kid, or treat their husbands shabbily and have NO kids.

Jon and Kate Gosselin: PA Dept. Of Labor Investigating Child Labor Complaint Against Gosselins

The Pennsylvania Department of Labor is probing a child labor law complaint made against TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8."

A Labor Department spokesperson confirms that the department is looking into a complaint made against the show with regard to child labor laws.
"Jon & Kate Plus 8" follows Jon and Kate Gosselin and their eight children -- eight-year-old twins and five-year-old sextuplets.

TLC released the following statement regarding the complaint:

"TLC fully complies with all applicable laws and regulations. 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' is no exception. For an extended period of time, we have been engaged in cooperative discussions and supplied all requested information to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor. We will continue to engage the appropriate officials and meet any standards or regulations that are applicable to TLC productions."

The state of Pennsylvania currently has no laws governing child labor which would include child actors.

The Coogan Law, named for child actor, Jackie Coogan, was set forth to protect a child star's earnings, and only exists in California. Some say the Gosselin children are not "actors"-they are children living their daily life. However, they may be children living their daily life, they are doing so in front of cameras, capturing their every movement, good and bad. These children have no voice over what is or is not filmed, what is edited, and are not involved in the post-production of the series. There are no laws set forth to protect their share of earnings for their time in front of the cameras, nor laws to limit their time in front of the cameras. ~SpoiledMom

The headline-grabbing couple has made news lately for infidelity allegations and for their sky-high rating of the show's season premiere.

Jon and Kate Gosselin spent Memorial Day apart with Jon going to a New York bar with two women while Kate took their 8 children on a boat ride in North Carolina.

Along with Kate were nannies, security, and Kate's bodyguard, Steve Neild, sans his wife.

Witnesses tell People magazine Jon Gosselin and two female friends stopped in at 26 Front Street bar in Newburgh Monday afternoon. “They came in, approached the bar, got some drinks and then stood off on their own by a railing. They were laughing and talking and they all left together,” says a bouncer who checked Jon’s ID.

Another bar customer says Jon appeared to be flirting with one of the women, who looked to be in her 20s. “There was a lot of intense conversation. They were laughing a lot and looked really close. It looked like flirting to me,” the onlooker says.

Jon simply came in "to have a beer and chill," bar manager Robb Tanczos tells the mag. He only stayed for about half an hour before he noticed people were taking photographs. "People weren't causing a scene or ooohing and ahhhing, but Jon could tell people were starting to notice him and he got uncomfortable," Tanczos says. At that point, Jon finished his beer and left with his two female companions.

Us Weekly reports that a one onlooker named Jess called into 104.7 The Dial radio station after spotting Jon at the bar. "They were just ... drinking some Miller Lites," she reported. "No canoodling, nothing like that. He was wearing his ring, I will give him that."

After leaving the Front Street venue, Jon took his friends to Torches restaurant. "There was no flirting or affection," Torches manager Damien Brady adds. "They just looked like old friends and were laughing and having a good time."

The Gosselin family drama first began when Jon was spotted out late one night with a woman named DeAnna Hummel. He denied reports he cheated on Kate with Hummel and admitted he used “bad judgment.” Soon after Kate denied rumors she had an affair with her bodyguard.

The couple has admitted they are dealing with problems in their marriage. The problems were evident in the recent season premiere of their TLC reality show ‘Jon and Kate Plus 8.’

The interview was on Tuesday, May 26, the day after the Memorial Day Season 5 Premiere of Jon and Kate + 8.

Jon and Kate plus American Chopper Equals More Free Gifts = Kate's Pink Vespa and Jon's Hog

Does this seem like a family dealing with scandal?
Oh yeah, the cameras are on...

Jon and Kate are at it again. As posted previously, all the tabloid scandals seem to have been a media ruse for publicity. And from a lot of viewers-before the big season premier- it is hard to tell if anyone is feeling sorry for the couple. Will the damage control work? A recent HLN poll showed that 83% of people polled would not tune in to Monday night's premier of Season 5.

One commenter said, "You would think they would stop production and work on their family issues." Another replied, "If the stories are untrue, why not file a lawsuit? That is what makes me question as if there is truth to the rumors, and if it is a publicity stunt on behalf of TLC."

Either way, filming forges ahead for controversial couple Jon and Kate Gosselin--and, it seems, their relationship does as well.

While infidelity and marriage-of-convenience reports plague the two and their eight children, they continue to film a new season of their hit TLC series Jon & Kate Plus 8.

New pictures have surfaced of the Gosselin's filming a forthcoming episode where fellow TLC show American Chopper invades their town of Reading, PA and gifts the couple their own motorcycles.

Despite the rumors, the couple are still accepting free gifts. Paul Sr. of Orange County Choppers gifted Kate with her own Pink Vespa Scooter during the filming. Jon also received a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Kate is seen getting instruction-wearing a denim mini skirt and wedge heels-on her humble power scooter -- a hot pink on light pink Vespa --then lounging on her lawn with the kids. Jon opts to hit the open road on his "hog". Both cycle and scooter were presented to Jon and Kate by Paul Sr. of Orange County Choppers, from the TLC series, American Chopper.
